Very Helpful
I got this for cutting raw sheet metal stock for building machinery. I have cut 0.050" thick spring steel and 0.125" thick mild steel with great results. When I cut long straight segments I set up an aluminum guide and it cuts as straight as the guide. Fresh blades are important to achieve faster cuts. It's the perfect size for easily controlling your cuts.

Panel Cutting saw
Best money I have ever spent on a tool. Normal methods of hack saws, band saws, etc., wreck havoc on thin gage materials. Not this tool. It cuts a beautiful straight line in stainless with virtually no effort. The depth of cut feature is absolutely awesome. I haven't been this impressed by a tool in many years.

Nice for cutting a straight line
I bought this after watching the video and it looked good. I was making bed sides with 18ga steel and had to cut 1/2 inch off the length of the bed. First cut was nice and straight with the diamond wheel that was recommended. Took a long time and wasn’t to happy but it was nice and straight because the tool has a line etched in the base to follow. I decided to use a regular cut off wheel instead of the diamond wheel and it cut perfectly in no time. Now I’m glad I bought it !

How thick of metal can it cut?
I know it says it can reach a depth of 1/4", but that's not my question.

This unit was designed for autobody sheet metal work. While it could cut thicker metals, that wasn't the design intention and it doesn't excel there. This is meant for precise cuts on 16-18 gauge steel and thinner.

Tks. For reply on panel saw question. The electric saw
has a guide for cutting straight lines just like a carpentry circular saw? I use flangetool 90% of time less warpage. l assume no death adjustment on panel saw its for thin stuff

The Mini Metal Saw does come with a fence for cutting along straight lines.
This Panel Cutting Saw has limited depth adjustability. The base is slotted so the rear block can slide back and forth for different sheet gauge thickness (eg. 18 and 20 gauge), or it can be removed entirely.

You sell another metal saw that is fully debth adjustable, has a rip guide, is electric, model# # 31664-31665 . What is better about this panel saw if a diamond blade could be added to the original electric model above?

This tool is air powered and intended for high precision sheet metal work if you are making, for example, automotive body panels from scratch or repairing auto body panels. It is compact and easy to maneuver. The included diamond blade is phenomenal for this sort of work, excellent cut quality and lifespan.
The Mini Metal Saw you reference is larger, electric powered, and NOT meant for precision work. It is more suitable for long straight cuts on materials thick and thin. The blade size is larger and we do not offer a diamond blade for it currently.
