I have a bright red basecoat and wanted to add pearl to the clear to give it an orange hue in sunlight. In general, would it be better to use the tangerine orange pearl or the lemonhead yellow pearl to achieve this?

Asked by: Eli91
To achieve an orange hue I would recommend going with the tangerine orange pearl.

If I would add this to a darker base-coat, would it mike it shine a bit better and give the appearance of the orange, brighter?

Asked by: Nash
Any time you add flake, it will change the color, and that depends on how much you add. There is also a different look, if you add the flake to the base coat, or if you add the flake to the intercoat of clear. This way is recommended, as it suspends the flake in clear, and then you apply the top coat of clear. Either way you should do some tests spray outs to see what way will look best for your application.
