Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black Satin Spray PaintI tried Rust oleum Stops Rust Protective aerosol on some motorcycle parts. It was very inconsistent coming out of the nozzle and easily marred and scratched. This Eastwood Extreme Chassis is an even spray out of the nozzle, very durable while handling and has a great true satin sheen! Well worth the couple extra dollars!

Just good paint, plain and simpleI often wonder the quality of the paint job I’ll get when painting using rattle cans. But there’ snow doubts about that when using the Eastwood Chassis Black - it’s just good paint. It goes on very well, it not prove to running, and dries to a great finish.

So Far, It's Looking Amazing on my Stretched Frame PeterbiltLiking this very much so far... just had a few spots of surface rust, discoloration, on my frame and obsessed over it so just wanted to try something cheap & effective. This stuff seems to be sticking, it looks awesome, cleans up nicely when washing the truck so far. Very happy I took the time to try it out!
Can this be applied to aluminum that has been prepped with K-Phos?

Great question, TJ. The TDS for this product actually lists bare aluminum as an incompatible substrate — so applying directly to unprimed aluminum isn't recommended. The good news is that K-Phos (zinc phosphate conversion coating) typically leaves a chemically bonded, paintable surface, but the TDS doesn't specifically address it as an approved pretreatment for aluminum with this product, so we can't confirm compatibility without more testing on your end.
The safest path would be to follow up the K-Phos treatment with a compatible epoxy primer before shooting the Extreme Chassis Black Satin. The Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black Primer Aerosol 14 oz

Can I apply it over the platinum coat? I am painting my truck frame and ordered the platinum as my main rust prevention and encapsulator, I want my frame to have a black finish can I apply this over and achieve that?

Good news — yes, this combination will work great for your frame project. The TDS for Extreme Chassis Black Satin explicitly lists Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Platinum as a compatible surface, so you can apply it directly over the Platinum once it's fully cured. Just make sure the Platinum is completely cured before topcoating, and if you're past its recoat window, give it a light scuff with 320-grit before shooting the Chassis Black. Two coats of the Extreme Chassis Black Satin should give you full coverage and that clean, OEM-style satin finish on your frame.

Can I use this on the aluminum roof rail on my SUV? Will it adhere?

Yes, you will need to scuff the part and wipe it clean with Eastwood Pre Paint Prep. Once dry, apply the powder with the PCS-250 and bake at 400 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes.

I painted my entire Jeep frame with 2K Epoxy Primer and 2K Chassis Black and 2K Clear. Can I do spot fixes with Extreme Chassis Black top coated with 2K Clear?

We do not recommend mixing the 1K and 2K chassis products due to chemical differences in the paint.
