Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT FOR OLDER ENGINES This is my second time purchasing the ZDDP additive. Bought it in the past for my 1970 Mach 1, 351W and now I have added a 1965 F-100, 352 to my toy list. I use the ZDDP in both and couldn't be more pleased with the product! A must for the older flat tapet engines!! I wouldn't change the oil without it

What is the concentration of the zddp in this product? I need the exact ppm so I can add the proper amount to the oil I use to get 1700 ppm.

Asked by: lifestar
We recommend 4 ozs. to 4-6 quarts of motor oil. Taking the middle of the road and mixing 4 ozs. to 5 quarts of motor oil (41:1 Ratio) the additional Zinc and Phosphorus content that would added is; Phosphorus Content = 1575 ppm Zinc Content = 1741 ppm”

Details

If you project vehicle is pre-1989, ZDDP Oil Additive is a must for keeping that engine running smoothly.

  • ZDDP alters bearing and journal surface characteristics to prevent metal-on-metal contact
  • ZDDP reduces the tendency of parts to scuff or gall under heavy loads
  • Add a 4-oz. bottle of ZDDP to every 4-6 quart oil change

If your engine was designed before 1989, the camshaft's non-roller lifters require ZDDP in the motor oil to prevent premature deterioration. However, the U.S. government recommended that ZDDP no longer be put into domestic motor oils starting in 1989, so today's motor oils won't provide the ZDDP additive your older engine needs...unless you add this ZDDP Oil Additive!

About Eastwood ZDDP Oil Additive 4 oz.

After 70+ years, the EPA mandated that all oil domestic producers remove ZDDP (Zinc Dialkyl Dithio Phosphate) from all conventional and synthetic motor oils. If your engine was designed before 1989 the non-roller lifters require ZDDP to avoid premature deterioriation. ZDDP also alters bearing and journal surface characteristics to prevent metal to metal contact. Under extereme conditions like a high perfromance motor, ZDDP reduces the tendancy of parts to scuff or gall under heavy loads. Simply add Eastwood ZDDP Oil Additive to every 4-6 quart oil change and your motor will be protected.
