want to install a 1997 4.6 V8 from an F150 into a 1965 F100. Using an Eldebrock 2838 intake. Will the Fitech act as the timing control module for the cam and other sensors?

i have a 68 mustang that has early generation 351w that's going in it. I notice that this kit doesn't have a typical ecm to control TBI or is that what the included hand held controller does. I've never attempted a carb to injection conversion. Thanks

Asked by: jackyl2rock
The ECU is actually built into the throttle body itself. It is on the front of the throttle body under the cover. The hand held is the way you communicate with the system. It allows you to program the unit as well as monitor the function of the unit. The only thing you would need besides the unit itself is a fuel system to convert to high pressure. I have included a flyer with the 30003 master kits to choose a complete kit. If you have any other questions let us know.

Fitech fuel injection system up to 400 HP... use mechanical fuel pump?

Asked by: RonJr
This kit uses your existing carbureted fuel pump and fuel lines to deliver the fuel to the Command Center which is mounted in the engine compartment.

I have a 305 Chevy V8 from a 1988 Truck. Will this work on it. Thank you.

Asked by: JesusR
The 30003 will work for your application if you are using a square bore intake 4150 base footprint. Now, the pump will have to be upgraded to at least a 255 LPH size pump whether it’s a frame-mounted or in the tank setup. Both fuel setups require a return line back to the tank, last will be the stock ignition if there’s no vacuum advance or it has a 5 pin weather pack connection in place your going to have to go with a later version HEI to have functioning advancement since the earlier styles used the ECU to advance timing.

I notice that on someone elses post that you stated that a person could use an existing carburated fuel pump. So my question is, how much fuel psi is needed to operate properly since most carburated fuel pumps are low pressure?

Asked by: jackyl2rock
This is out or the Instruction Manual Remember that your system will be running at 58 PSI so consult a professional if you are not certain about this portion of your installation. Fitech does not recommend aluminum fuel lines EVER! Or you can use the supplied EFI high pressure fuel hose that is supplied in your Fuel Delivery Kit.
