Recommended by many high performance engine rebuilding books, Glyptal seals the tiny ports left in metal after bead blasting and leaves the engine block interiors smooth. Helps keep the oil clean and flowing freely. Acid and oil resistant. Used on generator and alternator armatures. Glyptal has great electrical insulating properties too!

Performance and Color
This paint was purchased for its insulating properties, which seem pretty good. I love it because of the color - it resembles the Cherokee Red color used by Frank Lloyd Wright in many of his buildings.

Can I use this enamel copper wire for windings for electrical transformers?
Glyptal was originally used for insulating windings on transformers and some smart hot rodder started using it in engines to help oil return to the pan faster.
