Parts too big to cure in an oven? This Infrared Powder Curing Lamp can do the job in your shop or garage.
Infrared lamp sets-up on optional stand in minutes
Use in shop or garage
12 inch x 12 inch spot coverage area
For small parts to large housings
You're using our Eastwood Powdercoat System, but some of your parts require more space than inside a typical oven for curing. Or maybe you don't have a dedicated oven you can use strictly for powder-coating in your shop.
FAQs
Q: How often should the lamp be moved over the workpiece?
A: Refer to the included instruction booklet's cure charts to determine how frequently the light should be moved.
Q: What are some other tips?
A: Long parts are best cured by hanging vertically, working from the bottom up. An entire part should be powder-coated before the curing process begins. If the part has seams it can be coated and cured in sections.

Capable unit!It works! We needed something to cure powder on projects that don't fit in our oven, and decided to give this heat lamp a try. The first time we tried it, we set the lamp too close and got the metal to 480F, so it is definitely a capable unit. It also works great for those small projects that we don't want to heat up the entire oven for.

Works great in shop area. Don't use it to close to finish body work.Should be sold as a pair with the Stand but the light is awesome. It puts the heats out.

Works wonderful, affordable, convenient (for the most part)Ordered this on Dec 27th. Came the 30th by Fedex. Wonderful service. Mounted the lamp on my infratech 1500w 2x3 paint curing lamp stand. The lamp works great. Heats up really quick! When curing powder slowly ramp up the temperature ( distance to part) otherwise you will have peel like a florida grove. Can be a little bit ...intriguing figuring out the right angles to cure some parts. Some parts are a bit questionable like really deep dish wheels. But works great for flat objects like engine blocks, axle housings, suspension arms, etc. I cant afford to buy or make a walk in oven nor the electricity! So I dont mind one bit having to rotate or reposition parts to the lamp.

It actually worksI bought this after having a terrible experience with a professional powder shop. Over the past two days I’ve used it with ok results. I coated a motorcycle frame, sissy bar and gas tank. It takes some time to figure out. You’ve got to move it in 6” sections till you get the whole item done. The sissy bar was made of square bar stock and took forever to heat up. It will take ALLOT OF TIME to do anything of decent size larger than 18gauge. An oven just works better, less time/better result. But this pays for itself after one large job. If you have no other options consider it. Do not buy it if it’s your first time coating. There’s just too many variables. Start with a tiny oven. Then move on from there.

It works fine if youy have the timeThis is a very affordable way to powder coat larger stuff! I got it to coat motorcycle frames and other larger parts my hang up is that when I look at the lamp I can't help but think "This thing is worth $340....?" as far as I can tell this is the only game in town for this price range and I'm guessing that is why it's going for a premium because it looks like something a good hobbyist could have built in his garage and I think that might be the case.
Expect a motorcycle frame to take the better part of a day to cure. For the price of sending a frame to a shop for coating plus your time and effort it is almost paid for... If you are getting it for a one or two off project you might be better served by taking it to a shop but if you are a tinkerer this is a good investment but I would not use this for even small production runs.

Cannot recommend.Bought this specifically to do a Supercharger that will not physically fit in my oven.
Tried a few test pieces before baking my supercharger and I'm glad I did, because even half an inch away from the lamp, I could not get the surface of the part warmer than 330 degrees F after 3 hours of exposure.
I'll give this lamp the benefit of the doubt because ambient outside temperature was 32°.
So maybe those of you with a heated building would have better luck.
But as it stands right now, this light was a very poor investment. I simply cannot recommend it.
Would an infrared power curing lamp from home depot work just as the ones you sell? On a very tight budget as a disabled veteran with a set income, I do want to buy your powder coatings and after money comes in get rid of free stuff given to all Eastwood

If the wattage and temp of the home depot shows as being the same it will probably work

Is the light heating evenly inside the 10" x 10" curing area? I am afraid it have the uneven heating effect
Asked by: Kaiquan
Infrared lights are much less efficient than an oven as it does create an uneven distribution of heat.

How hot do they get?
Asked by: Juano
The Infrared radiation emitted by the IR lamp is capable of heating a surface to over 800°F depending on how close to the surface it is and for how long it is kept there. For Powder coating, only several minutes is required for a surface to reach 400°F at a distance of 8-10 inches. The outer shell of the lamp may reach 140° after prolonged use.

would this lamp work for wheels? or would you recommend a larger lamp?
Asked by: robot521
This Lamp will work on wheels, you may need to move the lamp around. Also a IR thermometer is a handy tool to have, so you can monitor the temp of the wheel. Item # 31223

Could this be mounted inside of a dedicated curing oven and used as a heating element?
Asked by: Lethal Designs
IR lamps only heat what they hit. So the would not heat an enclosed space the correct way to cure powder. You would still need a traditional heating element.
