Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rocker pedal upgrade This pedal upgrade for the TIG200 is an absolute must. It corrects the over voltage issue with the standard pedal. If you plan to Tig weld thin metal you absolutely need this rocker pedal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life Saver The pedal that came with the unit was a nightmare. I tried so hard to Weld exhaust pipes. I used a lot of Argon, spend a lot on pipes to practice on. I was so Determined to make it work. I ran across a YouTube video where a guy tossed it. I then right away bought the up grade. My sanity is back. What a difference

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have This foot pedal makes your amp control a lot easier using the whole foot instead of just the toes, Eastwood should have this as an upgrade for the price difference between the two pedals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can add or subtract the arc All the reviews are correct if you have the tig 200 dc or dc/ac,then this makes it a lot easier to control your welds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs to be standard equipment! Clearly a vast improvement on the standard model which is subject to broken wires, both inside and outside of the foot pedal. These breaks just from flexing in normal heavy use caused by moving the pedal with your foot while repositioning during your welding. The new foot pedal I purchased without hesitation, on that which is now my second Eastwood TIG machine. I am pleased with the outstanding new machine. The foot pedal needs to eliminate the rheostat, or better protect it from being bumped. The quality is infinitely improved with heavier wiring, and generally, a quality feel. If you are going to use your TIG with any regularity, I would consider this upgrade an essential item, as rewiring repeatedly, when in the midst of a job is quite annoying, and the sturdiness and general feel is greatly superior.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Necessary up-grade I have not use this pedal yet but wanted to comment- The included pedal is only an off/on switch. THIS variable pedal really needs to be an option when you buy this machine; either include this an a increased price or leave the pedal out and let the welder decide which pedal to buy. Anyone who uses a TIG welder knows you want to be able adjust amperage during the process. Product appears to be well build. Sure looking forward to using it. Will up-date after I do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A MUST for the Eastwood TIG welder. Not perfect. This pedal is an absolute MUST. The pedal that comes with the machine is absolutely horrible. Hopefully Eastwood will start offering this pedal standard with the welder instead of as an upgrade. The annoying part is that it still has that awful amperage adjustment knob on the pedal, but that's more of a function of the machine. The knob turns very easily... that's NOT a good thing. Any time you bump it, or even drag it across the floor to change your position, you have to reach down to reset your amps. Overall, a huge upgrade to the overall operation of the welder.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from doesn't weld like a dynasty I bought this pedal for the Eastwood 200 AC/DC TIG welder. First and foremost I am disappointed that Eastwood didn't provide this pedal as standard equipment for their Tig welders. I purchased it a year ago but I literally started using it this month, new welder and new pedal. It is until most recent that they made it standard, so I had to purchase it separately. Regardless im sorry to inform you the pedal is absolutely terrible, which only led to more disappointment. if id known this pedal was of the lowest quality, I would of kept the toy pedal it came with, because even that works better. I expected more from a company that has been around for over 40 years. The pedal is more like an "on/off" switch, IT HAS NO RANGE. YOU CANNOT CONTROL YOUR ARC like a real rocker pedal allows you to do.what I mean by no range is that u cannot start a small weld puddle and slowly increase it or decrease it. secondly, what's with the amp control knob on the side of the pedal? that is the silliest design ever, if I'm working on a piece, I need to work around it so I will be moving the pedal around and every time in doing so u accidentally move that knob . third, the rubber bumpers on the bottom of the pedal ripped off the very first day I used it, again that's a poor design . u need the pedal to sit on a metal base, not rubber bumpers. no real welder or fabricator sits in one spot all day. more than anything I am disappointed in myself for making a terrible purchase, it is my fault for purchasing a welder from a company who's focus is not manufacturing a quality welder or equipment. I am a welder fabricator and this welder/pedal is a toy. the worst part is that I purchased both the welder and pedal thru affirm which allows u to finance your purchases. I want my money back , with interest. I will not be making anymore purchases from Eastwood. Eastwood, if you are reading this reach out to me, u want real feed back ? you want to provide your customers with quality welders and equipment? then allow real welders and fabricators to try your products for free so we can tell you what's good and what needs improvement, send me your welders ill put them to the test in real work environments. because that's what your competitors do, they send their prototype products to welders before it is sold to the public.

Questions & Answers

Can you explain how the amperage control on the foot pedal works? For instance, if I set the amperage control on the welder at 100 amps and set the foot pedal amperage to 200 will I get 100 or 200 at the torch?

Asked by: Brandon T
Even with the dial on the foot pedal, the machine max will be what the unit will be limited to at 100% pressure.

I bought my MP250i in October 2020, it came with the scratch start Tig, can I upgrade the Torch and use this pedal? Ord# E21691605

Asked by: Upgrade
Unfortunately no. The version you have is the original MP250i #21180. This unit is a scratch start TIG only and it is not compatible with a foot pedal option. Our new Elite MP250i#54500 is the only MP unit w sell that is compatible with a foot pedal and will arrive with one upon purchase.

My tig 200 AC/DC has the 5 pin male plug, which foot pedal is the correct one I would need to buy. (Foot pedal needs to have a female 5 pin plug)

Asked by: Skywalk
This would be the correct upgraded foot pedal for your machine.

Can I upgrade the pedal when I purchase it? Or does it just come with the one pedal and I have to buy the upgraded one separately and end up with two pedals?

Asked by: Paulf54
The Tig 200 AC/DC comes with the regular pedal, If you purchase the upgraded pedal you will have 2 pedals.

I purchased my TIG200DC welder back on April 5th, 2016. Will this pedal upgrade work on my welder. I just came across the side note about this upgraded pedal only working on welders after October of 2016.

Asked by: furynut69
If your foot pedal plug is the 5 pin plug this is the right foot pedal.
