The Eastwood Welding Extension Cord is what you need when you have to take your welder to the project. The 25ft, 6 AWG, 3 conductor UL listed cord has an industry standard NEMA 6-50 Plug and Receptacle, which are what you need for 50 amp circuits. The copper is electrical grade so there’s only a minimal voltage drop to your machine. The cord has heavy insulation to protect the wiring from chemicals and it is abrasion resistant, so when you drag it around the shop over concrete and through mystery puddles, you know you’re still safe. Finally, an extension cord strong enough to use for welding and long enough to actually be useful.
The Eastwood Welding Extension Cord is 25ft long – long enough to bring your welding machine to your project, not the other way around.

versatility, finallyNow I have the capability to use my welder outside the shop. I was considering making the cord myself, but this offer was too good to pass up. Eastwood quality is always evident.

Awesome cordThis cord is awesome I used it over the weekend working perfectly I may need another one
I have a harbor freight MIG 180 which is a 220 V @ 24 amp . May I use this extension cord to replace it's 6 foot cord ? Chicago electric dosen't recommend using extension cords , that is why I seek to just replace its power cord . Your opinion. Is it safe
Asked by: G money
I asked this very question in an internet group and the universal consensus was that HF was covering themselves when it came to the use of extension cords. Their concern is likely that somebody will hook up an inadequate cord and burn their house down. This isn't one of those ordinary cords. This uses 6-gauge wire and is fully capable of carrying 50 amps of 240 volt power without being a fire hazard.
If it were me, I'd use this as an extension cord rather than replacing the original power cord. Why open up the guts of your welder when you don't need to? But that's me. I'm not telling you what to do.

I wanted to use the plug behind my range with an extension cord, but the wall socket is a four conductor type. Do you have a recommendation?
Asked by: Newbie
Many hardware stores sell converters from the 3 prong NEMA style to the newer 4 prong 220v plugs that you could use.
