Description
VHT's Engine Enamel aerosols offers good heat dissipation and gloss retention. Resins offer protection up to 550° intermittently and resist most automotive chemicals. Provides brilliant finish that will not blister, flake or peel. For use on engine blocks and engine accessories. Coating will not stand up to cylinder head and exhaust port temperatures.

Application Tips
To apply, ensure surface is clean, dry and free of greases and oils. Use Eastwood's PRE Painting Prep to clean the surface and ensure excellent adhesion. For best results use between 70°F and 90°F with 50%, or less, humidity. Apply in light coats waiting about 10 minutes between coats. Paint will be dry to the touch in 30 minutes allow 2-6 hours before putting part into service.

Looks good but the durability is not good at all
After cleaning and being thorough in the preparation to paint step, the paint went on beautifully and had a great color. However, slight taps or bumps against something will chip the paint right off. Leaving the bare prepped surface open to corrosion attack and is an unsightly eyesore. The color looks great but the durability is not worth the money for this product in my opinion.

Why is Chevy orange not available in quarts or gallons? And why is it not used for heads and completely heat impervious so it retains the non-fading and peeling after being in service?
This is not our paint- this is the VHT brand that we resell. This is the only size option that we currently offer. This particular paint is also only temp rated up to 550F as an absolute max.

Will this be durable on my Chevy 350 valve covers. Do I need to prime? Or can I just spray this on with no priming
This product will be durable enough to spray on your valve covers. You can simply just scuff the surface and wipe down with a wax and grease remover and apply the paint.

This paint can be applied to bare metal on the transmission.
