Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product works well Surprised by the earlier reviews - The arc started with no problem using my Eastwood plasma cutter running on 120V. The instructions are explicit about positioning the plasma head in the tool. There are two positions possible - one will place the plasma head close to the surface, the other way it most likely would be too far away to strike an arc. Although I didn't have a problem cutting a circle with the current guide, Russell's comment about a magnetic/screw center holder is a good one. To keep the center point from walking around I just drilled a small hole to keep the point centered. I'm going to cobble a magnetic center point together and give that a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well with my Hobart Welder I bought this knowing that it was not designed for my Hobart Plasma cutter...but for the price I figured I couldn't go to far wrong. The cutter does not fit in the designed direction...but if you flip it over...the cutting head fits right in and holds the cutting tip at the right height. I can cut either direction just by holding the tip in the cutter with one hand and holding the guild in the pre-drilled hole with the other. Takes a little practice...but I can now cut perfect circles and arches with just a little clean-up grinding. Glad I found this tool...thanks Eastwood...FireForge Art Glass

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality for premium price Whilst this does what it says the quality is very poor for what is a premium price. Mine was corroded out of the box and had to be dismantled and cleaned on the wire wheel and lubricated to work properly. This is made from mild steel with a nickel coating. For the price it should be stainless steel. Competitors products at a fraction of the cost are way better quality. I bought it as I was happy with my Eastwood plasma cutter(despite that failing out the box and requiring replacement) but this is way over priced and under engineered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Guiding a beginer Learning with Versa Cut 40 amp. Practiced on my VW floor pan free hand the first time and had trouble keeping the correct height of the nozzle from the metal and cut was wavy. Got the Guide to cut straight lines mostly. Works excellent, I lock the guide so the wheels are inline with the cut and best position for hand hold. Guide sets the nozzle at the correct height, so no guessing or risk of damaging the tip. Cut a perfect laser straight line first time, well worth the investment. I'll try the circular bar after I get more practice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well if used in counterclockwise direction I found that if you are cutting out circles, you must move in a counterclockwise direction. Otherwise(as slag builds on the bottom side of the center rotating ring) the unit rotates as a whole and unscrews the outer nozzle allowing the electrode to lower and touch workpiece, thereby burning up the electrode and inner nozzle. Aside from that it works as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helps cut straight lines actually straight! Local steel supply houses want so much money for some of the simplest things lately... I decided to accessorize my Eastwood [40] Plasma Cutter... and Boy am I pleased! I set up a guide where I want it and slice away- 12 gage on down... heck I even was able to successfully cut 1/4" plate exactly how I wanted- I can see buying a couple of these and creating some template type tools... I believe I got what I paid for. I haven't used it for circles, just a lot of straight & follow the guide type cutting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Let me start off I knew it wouldn't work Keep reading Simple but well-made Excellent value I knew I would have to send it to my machinist To work on my spectrum 625 extreme Going to buy one more for other machines Most my work is one-off prototype The only thing that I would have to say negative Need to think outside the box on designing To make it more versatile for other Machine Not everybody has the luxury of a machinist In their shop Thank you. Rated 1 out of 5 by from can't get the plasma cutter to start cutting I had been waiting for this product to come out for a long time.I was very disappointed. no magnet to hold the circle cutter guide to the metal. No threaded hole to hold it to the metal with a screw either.that Means 2 hand operation Worst of all with the plasma cutter hooked up to 220 and the amperage turned up all the way the arc will not start cutting on 14 gauge sheet metal,

Does Eastwood have an equivalent product that can be used with a Miller cutter (smaller nozzle diameter)?
