Eastwood 80 Amp ARC 80 Inverter Stick Welder

Product Overview:

Description

Light weight inverter based stick welder that gives you the portability to weld anywhere that there is a 110 volt outlet. Easy to setup and easy to use, this welder can weld steel, stainless steel and cast iron.

The Eastwood ARC 80 Inverter Stick Welder Features:

  • Inverter Power 20 to 80 amps (90 amp peak)
  • Duty Cycle – 20% at 80 amps
  • Infinite amperage control
  • Electrode Size (in.) - 1/16, 5/64 or 3/32
  • Light weight 11 lbs
  • 110 volt service (20 amp recommended)
  • Hot Start – Raises amperage when striking an arc to prevent the electrode from sticking to the work piece
  • Anti-Stick – Like Hot Start, the machine will fluctuate amperage when needed to keep your electrode from sticking to the work piece while welding

The Hot Start helps even the beginner welder strike an ARC every time. The anti-stick feature enables easy welding without frustrating rod stick. Infinite amperage settings from 20 to 80 amps (90 amp peak) for welding up to 1/8 steel on a single pass. Thicker material can be welded with multiple passes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little welder Great little welder. I’ve run about 10 pounds of various rods through it and I love it. You have to be carful not to over do it or you will trip the 20 amp breaker. I’m running 3/32 6013 at 65 amp and also 6011 at 80 amp on dc positive. I’m welding 1/8 steel and burning about two rods and then wait about five minutes. If you are not willing to wait then get a welder that runs on 220 volts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Welding 16 gauge I use the arc 80 inverter welder to fit 16 gauge steel commercial doors. It’s worked great and is light weight. Do wish the lead cord was few feet longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new best friend. I bought this welder for two small jobs at our beach house, my mig wouldn't work well in a sea breeze. In a years time I have put 30 lbs of rod thru it . I have definitely used it more than expected . Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lived through 3 days under water! I purchased this lil welder in 2016. Used it few time but was put up after I got a mig. Hurricane florance came through and my whole first floor was under about 7 feet of water for 3day. Today I just got around to trying out some power tools. Mig was dead as could be. But this lil guy fired up and still welds great! So thank you Eastwood for the great quality!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ARC Stability I've owned it a month & used it a few times. Impressed with the arc stability & power for a 110 unit. I've been a certified steam fitter welder for 47 years , & know what i'm talking about. GOOD product for light duty work.

Questions & Answers

The welder included a package of un-labeled 3/32' rods. What are the characteristics of those rods (6013, 7018, etc.)? "The right rod can make a big difference in welding ease and performance." Does Eastwood sell any rods besides type 6013 1/16" rods?

Asked by: Hobbit Fan
The included electrodes are 3/32" E6013. We do not offer any other electrodes currently, sorry. Most welding supply stores should have a decent selection.

Can this welder be used with 5/32" hard facing welding rod?

Asked by: Ray77
I'm not an expert on hard facing, but to be effective with a 5/32" rod you will need significantly more than 80A. We offer several multi-process welders and TIG welders capable of stick at greater amperages: https://www.eastwood.com/welders.html?arc_stick_weld_capable=1

will this arc welder work to weld 3/16 metal for automotive?

Asked by: benni
This welder is only rated for up to 1/8". If you need to weld 3/16", the most affordable unit we offer for that is the #33970 MIG 140 and its a great welder.

can it be used to weld patch panels?  what rod to use  ?  Thanks

Asked by: Harold M
You will have the best chance at success with a 1/16" E6013 rod or similar. However, stick welding thin gauge sheet metal is not easy and the results will not be great. Doing this with a MIG or TIG process will make for a much better experience. I would recommend looking into our #58015 MIG 90 paired a 25% CO2/75% Argon mix gas bottle you will get excellent results.

Is the tig 200 welding harness compatible with the arc 80???

Asked by: Joe schmo
If you're referring to the Arc 200i the answer is yes the TIG torch will work. If you're referring to the TIG 200 DC, TIG 200 AC/DC, or TIG 200 Digital the TIG torch will not work with this unit.
