Eastwood ARC200 Stick Welder is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great stick welder. I bought this welder about 3 months ago and put it through a aggressive time of welding. After about 3 weeks it stopped working, I called and we went through a checklist. I returned the welder and was sent a new machine. The second welder is working perfectly. I understand that any machine can have a problem but is great to have someone to talk to and give such great service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just got my arc200i today I just got the arc200i today. Tested it with 1/8 6013 first, ran great. Then I used 1/8 7018 also ran terrific. I was worried that this machine would have problems running 6010 or not run it at all as many little inverter machines do. Also the description specifically says it runs 6013, 7014 and 7018 but no 6010. But I ran some 1/8 6010 with absolutely no problems!!! Duty cycle is a little low, but for the price thats ok with me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Welder I have used several stick welders through out my welding career and I will have to say that for a small lunch box sized stick welder this thing has some serious power. I just received mine in the mail and right out of the box I was able to stack dimes with a 1/8'' 7018 rod on 1/2 power. I also added the tig torch upgrade which has a surprisingly strong arc and lays some really nice beads for a $250 tig/stick machine.

Will a 30 amp 220 circuit power the welder ok?  Will it run 6010 or 6011 rod ok?

Asked by: Potshot
This welder will require a 50 amp circuit to function properly. It will have no problem running 6010 and 6011.

Duty Cycle

The rated Duty cycle refers to the amount of welding that can be done within an amount of time. The Eastwood ARC200i has a duty cycle of 15% at 200 Amps. It is easiest to look at your welding time in blocks of 10 Minutes and the Duty Cycle being a percentage of that 10 Minutes. If welding at 200 Amps with a 15% Duty Cycle, within a 10 Minute block of time you can weld for 1-1/2 Minutes with 8-1/2 Minutes of cooling for the welder.

If the Duty Cycle is exceeded, the Welder will automatically shut off, however the fan will continue running to cool the overheated components. When a safe temperature has been reached, the Welder will automatically switch the welder output back on. To increase the duty cycle you can turn down the Amperage Output control.
