Excellent compressor for DIY'r
I wanted to paint a horse trailer and started looking for a bigger compressor. Torn between a 29 gal and an 80 gal, I drove 3 1/2 hours to the Alsip (Chicago) store and met with Gary, the sales rep at that store.
Gary paired the Eastwood 29 gal compressor with the Concours LT 100 spray gun for my projects, and I couldn't be happier.
To test the compressor, I filled the compressor up, ran the pressure to 130 lbs and regulated the pressure just outside the hose reel to 80 lbs. I set the gun pressure to 30 lbs. and held the LT 100 spray gun full open for one minute. The pressure at the gun never dropped below 30 lbs., the regulator at the hose reel never dropped below 80 lbs. and while the compressor ran, it maintained about 115 lbs.
I highly recommend this compressor based on its ability to maintain air pressure, the quietness of the unit and the fact its oil cooled.

Super quiet, great scfm for a 120v unit
Bought this compressor the other day and so far am pleased with it. It has the ability to run any of my air tools that my smaller craftsman couldn't handle. The pulley's were not aligned properly upon delivery but that is an easy fix, just be aware as it could decrease the life of the belt. I believe painting with it should be no problem as long as i dont try to do too much at one time. Very happy with my purchase so far. The quietness of the compressor surprised me and was an added bonus.

Not strong enough
Compressor Starts refilling the tank almost immediately after starting the sander. does not appear to have enough capacity to operate the air sander continuously at a high pressure.

I want to paint a horse trailer and farm implements and I'm considering the Contour 2 spray gun. Would you recommend this compressor with that gun? Thanks. And, I'm in Dubuque can I drive to your store for pickup of these tools.
We would have to advise you to call the store near you directly in regards to their inventory. Ordering from us via phone or online- the item must be shipped directly to you. This paint gun will work with this compressor, but it has a small tank capacity and will deplete itself pretty abruptly. You will have to paint section by section when doing larger items.

I want to use this outside the United States can I replace the power unit with 220-240v version? or can Eastwood modify this to work on a 220-240v power? Thanks
Unfortunately, this unit is available in 120V, 60Hz, 13.8 A, Single Phase only. We do not have alternate options at this time in regards to this specific unit. modifications of this sort would need to be discussed with a licensed electrician.
