Eastwood Internal Frame Coating Plus is a high performance, moisture-cured urethane coating that encapsulates and stops rust from spreading. Internal Frame Coating Plus does not require a top coat except when exposed to direct sunlight. Internal Frame Coating Plus may be top coated with most high quality coatings. Apply over bare metal surfaces or rusted areas. Internal Frame Coating Plus is ideal for any type of rusted metal surface and can withstand temperatures up to 350 degrees F. Packaged in a large 16 ounce aerosol spray can.

Great Product, Easy to Use
I am cleaning up my Ford Ranger frame and decided to use aerosol for the tight, hard-to-reach places. It worked great on them and the frame overall. The nozzle did get clogged a couple of times, but some brake cleaner took care of that.

Steel fire door is rusted. Would this be a good product after wire brushing off the flaking paint and rust build up ?
Yes. For all Encapsulator application, there can be nothing that is loose. A good wiring brushing/wheeling and wipe down with a PRE cleaner. Encapsulator and Encapsulator Plus should be top coated if in a lot of sunlight. Encapsulator Platinum which is Silver has most UV protection.

Do you stir the rust encapsulator plus before use?
Yes, yes and yes. Always stir or shake this product well for best results.

How well does it work to inhibit aluminum corrosion
Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Plus is not specifically listed as suitable for application on bare aluminum. It is primarily designed for rusted metal surfaces/bare steel. For aluminum surfaces, it is generally recommended to use a product specifically formulated for aluminum, such as an epoxy primer.

Can this product be thinned with acetone? Or only xylene?
The Rust Encapsulator Plus can be thinned using Xylene or a Universal Urethane Reducer. Do not exceed a maximum reduction of 10%.

Hold up on concrete I have this beautiful sewer man hole cover. Then going to paint flowers on it.
Eastwood Rust Encapsulators are designed for use on rusted metal surfaces, such as steel or cast iron. It is not intended for application on concrete surfaces.

can this be apply to aluminum?
Eastwood Internal Frame Coating Rust Prevention Aerosol is specifically designed for steel and iron surfaces to provide rust protection inside hollow sections like frame rails, rockers, and other enclosed areas. Not ideal for aluminum.

Can this product be used over a chrome bumper ?
Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Plus is not recommended for direct application over chrome surfaces without proper surface preparation. Chrome is a very smooth, non-porous surface, which makes it difficult for coatings like Rust Encapsulator to adhere properly without mechanical or chemical prep.

Can you topcoat this after it dries with like a Krylon spray paint or Eastwood chassis black?
It can be topcoated with Eastwood Rust Encapsulators, Chassis Black or our Urethane paint line of products, onced fully cured for safe measures.
