'66 Mustang total floor replacementAn excellent product. Has a heavy consistency, so you need a sturdy brush. I bought several 1" throw away brushes from Home Depot, and they worked fine. Replaced floors in '66 Mustang project. After applying rust pre-treatment, I applied seam sealer, then POR15, then a body shutz product.

Good stuffBought this year's ago. Been used and sits on shelf for year's. Still good after that long. Probably been 4 years all together
is there a way to smooth it out us
like using a solvent on your fingertip and wiping it
Asked by: 94 wrangler
Yes, you can smooth out Eastwood Brush-On Seam Sealer for a cleaner finish, and using a solvent on your fingertip or tool is a common technique — but it must be done correctly to avoid affecting adhesion or curing.Use a gloved finger or a small plastic spreader for shaping.
Dip your glove or tool in an approved solvent like:
Eastwood PRE Painting Prep
Lightly wipe or shape the seam sealer while it’s still wet — don’t oversaturate.

what is the best temperature to apply the paint on seam sealer or are there and temperature requirements that I need to be aware of before applying this product.
Asked by: Twhite
Seam sealer should ideally be applied or painted at ambient temperatures between 70°F and 90°F. If the temperature is below 70°F, the surface should be warmed using a heat lamp during application and curing. Tack dries in 15 minutes and air dries in 1hour. Can be painted in 30 minutes.

I'm tidying up the cowl well on my 77 Fiat 124 Spider. Can I use this product as an overlay to smooth out the existing factory-applied sealer which appears to be an asphalt type? After cleaning of course.
Asked by: Peter
I'm not absolutely sure if it is compatible with the factory, although if you scuff it up and use our pre paint prep it will probably work.

As an adhesive, how strong is it? What is the best way to bond it with the metal, applying it to bare clean metal or primered and scuffed?
Asked by: Jolly Rodger
Its not about strength

How thin will seam sealer be effective? Have a 1/16 x 1/16 seams?
Asked by: JimW
Brush it on without making it too thick and it will seal. Only id you are working on angled seams you may need to apply a second cost.
Make absolutely sure you have a clean surface.
