Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised by Optiflow urethane! Easy to use products, I had no problems whatsoever applying it to a C4 Corvette body. The body had no damage but had several modifications, did all the SMC compatible bodywork and flares, blended and then applied the urethane. I skipped the epoxy Optiflow since I did not have a bare metal body on the car. The original paint was roughed up evenly in spots that were not modified, finishing with #320 before applying the Optiflow urethane. The temperature in Arizona at the time of application was around 65F-70F and cured perfectly when following the 4:1 ratio. Nice product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from went on as advertised the primer had stipples in it when dry due to being rolled on. the stipples do sand out easily though. in some areas i had to add a second coat to cover sand through. but I had plenty so no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Optiflow Primer Very easy to apply, lays down very nicely. Finish is semi-gloss which makes it easy to spot defects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Optiflow primer The primer works great if you can’t spray it on for what ever reason. It lays pretty flat and sands out very well. You must follow the directions and don’t mix to much of it at one time. I would recommend this primer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No spray, hurray! Purchased OptiFlow to prime bare aluminum on an aircraft. Really didn't want to deal with catalyzing vapors in the work area, nor did I want to prep for dust and dirt that would be stirred up in the old gravel/dirt floor hangar. Prepared the aluminum with Scotchbrite with an acetone wipe down to remove dirt, oils, and patches of oxidation. OptiFlow is very thin (this is NOT latex house paint), applies easily if the roller isn't loaded up heavily. Catalyzing vapors are still present so wearing a VOC capable filter mask is a good idea. Vapor is not as heavy as would be in a spay application. Pot life is very forgiving. Primer can show a slight "pimpling" and mild orange peel when applied past the pot life, but those faults are easily knocked down with 320/400 sandpaper. Second coat covers well. For my purpose, the thin coating adds less weight for a prime coat. After almost a year of hot/cold temperature cycles (0 to 90F) the primer continues to adhere well with no evidence of flaking. OptiFlow provides a base for a urethane top coat that otherwise would flake off a direct top coat to aluminum from several years of temperature cycling.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! I bought this to use in a shop that I share and did not want to spray due to all the other projects around me. It rolls on smooth and I like the DTM properties (hope they work) on the bare spots that I got after blocking the epoxy primer. Contrary to what the video suggested of reapplying an epoxy sealer coat (that I just did not have) But it does say DTM so I hope that small spots will be OK. To roll on vertical surfaces, I rolled up and down instead of front to back and then did a pass front to back to smooth it out. I then reblocked with 220 and 320 and it looks great. Hope they get it in other colors, I would have used the white on a white car...

I’m a professional painter and I’m looking at this kit for a home project and wanted to know if you warranty it and what makes this different than a regular sprayable 4:1 urethane primer and possibly what brand the quality could compare to ?

Asked by: Cjk100001
We only warrantee against it arriving opened or damaged. Optiflow was designed for those individuals who do not have a spray gun and or are not experienced with spray gun and doesn't have access to a spray booth. it compares to our Epoxy Urethane's

On the optiflow urethane what kind of recoat window is there? Can I apply 2 coats today and 2 coats the next day?

Asked by: EdwardR
You have about 4 hours to apply coats over one another without the need to sand. Any point past this window and you will need to sand to mechanically adhere any additional coats.
