Application Tips

Surface must be clean and free of wax, grease and debris. Abrade surface using 36 grit, or finer. Thoroughly mix desired amount of material with 2% liquid hardener. Do not exceed 1/4" depth. Allow to cure 15 min before sanding. Abrade with 40-80 grit and follow up with 120 grit to desired contour 5. If necessary, apply Eastwood’s Polyester Glazing Putty (13521zp) for final finishing. Topcoat with quality primer such as Eastwood’s Epoxy or Urethane Primers. Do NOT return catalyzed material back into can.

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from top notch filler we love this filler, sands with ease, spreads with little effort and covers great. it is the only filler that we have found with the rust inhibitor added to it so you have no fear for bare metal or epoxy primer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using contour filler I am a neophyte at doing body work but had absolutely no problems with this product. Just followed instructions as watched on the Eastwood videos. I did have an issue a couple of times with it setting up too quick but am sure I over did the hardener.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 100% Recommend I’ve been using this stuff for years on my own projects and others for work and I just keep coming back to it. The stuff is super easy to spread and sand; it doesn’t even leave many pinholes. I would recommend this stuff to someone who’s been in the business for years or to someone who is trying out their first project. Either way, you won’t go wrong. You just won’t get the same results from a Bondo product. Get out and work with it, you won’t regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good and fast Excellent product. You must use a balance to weigh out both the resin and hardener (2% by weight). If you do, it’s a reliable fast-hardening filler. Fast - like within less than a minute of work time, so use very small amounts. It cures to sandable condition in 15 min. Does require air flow out, so I use it in my paint booth. Adheres very well to both bare steel and primer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eastwood Contour premium body filler I really like Eastwood products. I used Eastwood in the past when I was building my 39 Chevy Sedan. I was very happy then and I am very happy using Eastwood now to build my 60 Ford Short Bus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Notch product I’m doing my 1st restoration (1946 Ford Tudor Sedan) I had some left over body filler and used it 1st. Eastwood body filler is so much easier to work with. So far it looks amazing.

Questions & Answers

FirewallPlan is to use epoxy primer and then your Eastwood seam sealer then your platinum rust encapsulator reply this body filler over all that then go ahead to finish and paint. Is that the best plan for a firewall?  Any special instructions on that?

Asked by: RB51
For Encapsulator to do what it needs to it needs to directly contact any rust present. So your best process would be: Encapsulator, body filler, Seam sealer (if needed) then paint.

After sanding the Premium body filler, can I wipe down the areas where I have exposed metal to prevent surface rust with fast etch? Will Fast Etch harm the premium body filler?

Asked by: 67Cuda
We do not recommend letting fast etch touch body filler. Fast Etch will damage that finish.
