Customer Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality good value That phrase is way over used, but not in this case. With all due respect top the other reviewer, before I used these infrared lamp I would have guessed 4 or 5 inches was necessary - not the 8 " to 10 " which is effective . As for the shipping cost , well these 6000 amp Infrared lamps don't fit in a Priority mail flat rate box....I just powder coated a boat hull, adding huge value to it, and I could not have done it without these lamp arrays. Even a $20,000 oven would have been too small .Id pay the shipping again gladly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's fair I don't feel that the product is described correctly. To operate correctly, the lamps need to be within 8 inches of powder coated item to heat to 400 degrees. Shipping costs of the lamps is a bit excessive. The lamp unit is built very well and does work well.

Questions & Answers

"Dual 6000-amp infrared lamp heads" So this unit uses 12,000 amps? I think I will need a direct connection to the nearest hydroelectric generating station to power it. It can't be 12,000 watts either, because at 220 volts, that would be almost 55 amps.

Asked by: screamingpencil
The lamps are 6000 Watts each, switched individually and wired in parallel which will draw 6000 Watts when they are both on. That will be 27 Amps draw when we do the calculation so it will need a 30 Amp, 220 circuit

i am trying to powder coat a bunch of rims. would this replace an oven? can this be used for pre bake and cure? im tight on space can i put this in a small walkin closet made from drywall or would that cause a fire?

Asked by: alir786
While this could replace an oven for larger items you will get the smoothest most consistent finish on wheels if you use an oven.

I purchased 2 of these units and have lost the instructions of relative curing time & instructions. How can I get a new copy?

Asked by: captpj
You want to keep the lamps about 8" away from the powder coated piece, this will bring the temp of the powder to 400 degrees let the part sit there for 15-20 min.
