Description

Eastwood MIG Welder Spool Gun with Metal Connector

When a restoration project calls for welding metals other than sheet metal and steel, the Eastwood MIG aluminum spool gun can help with that. This universal spool gun is compatible with all of our MIG welders that use a metal connector. By swapping it for the regular MIG torch, you’ll be able to fabricate aluminum at the same thickness the welder could handle for steel. The Eastwood spool gun has a metal connector for use with welders that have metal plugs on the torch head.

A metal spool gun is one of many great MIG welding accessories you can order from Eastwood. It comes with a 1-pound spool of aluminum welding wire and has a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty. Watch our demonstration video to learn how to use a spool gun or call the Eastwood tech team for assistance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Served me very well for an included attachment. I bought a MIG175 with the spool gun for less than the cost of a spool gun by itself. I didn't have a lot of faith in it for the price but have been pleasantly surprised. It needs a good push technique, about 70 to 80 degrees and a good gap between torch and work or you will burn up contactor tips and have problems. I also use a gap or a bevel for good penetration. Once you have a technique down I was even able to do some out of position welding with it. The spool gun has served me well on a couple of big jobs. I just ordered a new one as the feed tensioner had got warm and lost it's position. I had my kid laying down some good beads with good penetration first day with it in his hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Time Using Spool Gun. First time spool gun welding aluminum. It was like using a squeeze bottle of oleo. Good looking welds. I weld 4043 stick and its hard finding that sweet spot in amps. Mig welding aluminum is the way to go in my opinion for us non tig welders.
