Description
The Multitool 8CW is designed with a oversized 8 inch contact wheel for larger contoured grinding. The 8CW is a favorite among knife makers, blade sharpeners, and axe throwing competitors. The large contact wheel is perfect for flawless hollow grinds. Due to the size of the contact wheel the 8CW allows for additional belt cooling over traditional 2x48 belt machines.
The front contact wheel can be used for smooth controlled grinding, contouring, or internal finishing. The precision top platen can be used for perfect flat finishing. The underside offers a slack belt surface for external contouring and blending. The large 7 inch disc sander on the side offers plenty of surface area to work with for beveling, deburring, squaring, and general sanding. The quick change belt system allows you to change from grinding to polishing in seconds. The belt attachment can operate in a horizontal or vertical position. Multitool Attachments fit almost any bench grinder with a 1/2 or 5/8 shaft.

Handiest tool in the shop
I have a small machine shop at my home--Bridgeport, Colchester 13x40, Jet 20" vertical bandsaw, much welding and plasma-cutting equipment. I have several pieces of abrasive-cutting equipment but have wanted this piece for years. I never pulled the trigger because of the price. Then, for the first time in YEARS, it was on sale. I bought it. Now, it's on sale for almost half the price I paid.
If you have never used a contact wheel belt grinder, you cannot imagine how much better it is than a steel-platen sander. Belts last at least 3X as long, and metal removal rates are nearly triple. Surface finishes are much better. It's all about bearing against a resilient contact wheel that makes the metal removal so much faster and the belt life so much longer.
Buy this, while it's on sale at a fantastic price. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT!!

Great product
Works great on my 8” variable speed palmgren bench grinder. However, the drive wheel sticks out 1/4” farther than it should because of the length shaft on the motor. The unit could be shimmed from the motor, or the back of the drive wheel could be turned down.

The overall level of quality control has dropped compared to my first one! Bent parts,Missing parts and wrong instructions…

Can it go on the left side of the motor or does it have to be on the right!? I need it to fit the left
due to the design of the platen it can only be used on the right side of the motor.

What size is the drive wheel
Unfortunately the manufactures literature does not include the drive wheel size. The best we can determine it is a 5" drive wheel.
