Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't play around, you gotta get one. I started out with the manual one because Eastwood was out of stock, while it works OK, it is nowhere near the tool that the pneumatic unit is. I easily paid for it on this first job of wheelwell arches and lowers. saved me hours of grinding and I honestly think I got less panel warpage. This thing ROCKS!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makes a smaller than expected crimp I have used this for a small patch panel repair in 16 ga. sheet metal. The amount of crimping seemed rather smaller than expected, however the TIG weld went very well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like it’s features and what I can do with it! I bought one a year ago but after using it once it quit working but I called eastwood and they promptly sent me out another one , I love the fact that I can punch spot weld holes in a panel or bend the lips of the panels down to make the welds easier to grind!!!!!

Does this "shrink" the panel enough that you should allow a little extra material when cutting to fit the panel?

Asked by: T666
you will need to allow a very small amount extra metal, but as with any panel replacement, it is a cut and fit process.

I will be MIG welding in a number of floor pans. Normally I am told the metal should be butted together. IF I put a 45% bend on both existing and new do I need to overlap the two pieces so they butt at the V? If so how much. Tech just said a 1/2 inch !!

Asked by: MNTOM
If your using the Perfect Panel Prep Tool, all that is needed is for the 2 metal panels to touch. The 45° will than be filled with your weld. There is no need to overlap your panels.

I took it out of the box to use for the first time since Christmas. I squeeze the trigger and the jaws do nothing. Could it be low on hydraulic fluid?, the outside was cover in oil. If so what kind of fluid should I use?

Asked by: Flightmedic911
Yes, it certainly could e low on oil. This tool should be filled with air tool oil.

Will this work on curved panels such as a cab corner?

Asked by: JPToomey
This tool would tend to flatten out a small section with each "crimp" on very curved sections.
