Application Tips

Before activating, shake aerosol vigorously for 1 min. Take red button from cap. Rotate aerosol 180 degrees and attach button to pin on aerosol bottom. Place aerosol on firm ground upside down. Press red button with the ball of your hand until stop is reached.After activating, shake aerosol again vigorously for 2 min. Pot life is 48 up to 42 hours degrees F.

This primer sprays on smooth, no spits and sputters like some aerosol cans have. Lays on thick and dries pretty quickly if you're not overdoing it.

I bought this actually about 10 months ago, I was a little worried about its shelf life after it sat un-used for so long, but I decided to open it up and try it anyway and it still has performed quite well! The primer cured just as hard as it should've. I used it to spray a guitar body and so far it has been great for that purpose. I did get several sputters that left little drops on the body, but I expected that, this is a very nice 2k painting solution for people who don't own spray equipment. I won't even knock off a star for that, it did what I needed it to do.

In fact it saved me from missing some spots I missed preparing my 36 Chevy front fender for paint. I will definitly use again. I did sand this primer down before spraying gloss black. Turned out fantastic.

What is average drying time before sanding

May be wet sanded after 2-3 hours, or block sanded (dry) after 3-4 hours.

I have s small rusted part on the roof of my car where i exposed the bare metal. Should i spray this directly since it is not deep enough for filler then spray the color match paint on top? Is it ok to spray on the original paint not rusted part? Thank yo

This primer is not for use on bare metal. If bare metal is exposed the Epoxy primer would be best to apply first, then you can apply this Urethane primer. Technically we can not guarantee compatibility between our products and products we do not sell (the existing finish down in this scenario) so we can't verify this 100%. We would have to advise you to test a small area first.

I am trying to paint a polyurethane rubber decklid spoiler for a car. I would like to use your 2k clear to go over the color matched spray can I have but am concerned because the part is flexible. I am told a flex agent is needed. What do you recommend?

Modern paints are plenty flexible enough for a spoiler which doesn't move much.

Can I apply this over Ospho rust converter?

This product is not tested over ospho, we would recommend wiping it down with a wax and grease remover before applying it over the ospho.

I primed my hood with epoxy and realized I bought black urethane so what do i do for a guide coat? Can I use regular rust grey primer. Can I even use enamel paint over urethane for top coat?

You should be able to get away without guide coat as you'll more than likely see a difference in the primer as you sand. In a pinch you could mist some gray paint over it as you sand too see where you are. Just don't use self etching primer or forget to sand all the "gray spray can paint" off.
