Eastwood's 2K AeroSpray™ Ceramic Chassis Black

Product Overview:

Description

Eastwood's 2K Ceramic Chassis Black Aerosol allows you to paint with the durability and precision of a two-component coating without the paint gun!

Give parts a professional finish with DIY ease thanks to AeroSpray™ Ceramic Chassis Black, available in Satin or Gloss. This fully catalyzed Eastwood 2K paint in a can sprays like an HVLP paint gun — except you don’t need the paint gun. The paint and activator are stored in two separate chambers. Once you activate the can (see pictures below), a proprietary nozzle and valve mix them in the perfect ratio while spraying in a wide fan pattern for better coverage. Infusing the paint with ceramic makes it protect better against UV rays, chemical stains, chips and scratches.

Apply this 2K aerosol paint over Extreme Chassis Black® Primer on axles, springs, oil pans, wheel wells and other parts. The Satin has a 25-30% satin gloss level for those who want a light shine. One can covers 10-16 square feet depending on how many coatings you apply, making it a good choice for small and medium painting projects. Add 2K AeroSpray Clear for further protection and a custom look. Do the Job Right using our chassis spray paint that comes with lifetime tech support.

Eastwood 2K AeroSpray Ceramic Chassis Black Features:

  • 2-Component Catalyzed Technology
  • Two Chamber Design Aerosol
  • Sprays Like a Paint Gun
  • Satin Gloss level Approximately 25-30%
  • Covers 10-16 square feet

The innovative nozzle and valve technology, combined with its two internal chambers, ensure the right ratio is mixed every time. Sprays like a gun with a broader spray pattern than conventional aerosols, and no mess to clean up. You'll achieve professional results from an easy-to-use aerosol. Coverage approx 10-16 sq ft

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Results on Frame Application Painted a 68 GTO frame with satin black 2k paint and it turned out great. Paint sprayed fine until the can was almost empty. Then had to hold it vertical or it would sputter. Adjusted my approach to spray the areas where the can needed to be at an angle first when still full, and vertical surfaces as the can got close to empty. Happy with the result!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Over the moon happy I’m not experienced with painting aside form single stage rattle can paint that doesn’t hold up. II did a good prep job…. Not perfect but pretty darn good. Then 2 coats of epoxy primer followed by detailed sanding to get it just right… the primer is great and sands easily by the way. Then time for the aerospray 2k Ceramic chassis top coat. It was a dream to work with…. Came out of the can flawlessly and flowed out beautifully. There are spots that aren’t perfect but that’s where either my prep wasn’t perfect or my technique got the best of me… I’m very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No complaints I just used two cans. The adjustable fan shaped spray pattern functioned without issue. It only sputtered a little when the can was about empty. The gloss provided a shiny candy coated finish. Only time will show how durable it is. So expensive though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, limited coverage I have used 2K chasis black for my 72 MGB restoration project. It works quite well, and looks great. There is not an enormous amount of coverage per can, though. Application is easy, but be careful to wear a respirator, as it is quite toxic. As for the review above, I have gotten some spitting on other Eastwood products, but was told they need to be stored above 50 degrees, and I had left them in an unheated garage over the winter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mixed Feelings Good paint that doesn't come out of the can very well can result in a less than satisfactory job. If you are holding the can straight up and down, it works fine. If you are holding on any kind of angle, it's going to spit and sputter. In my case it wasn't that big of a deal, it'll be a driver, but if I was restoring a valuable car, I'd be less than happy. Expectations of Eastwood products are high, because they are well respected for quality. The can design is flawed so find a different vendor. They are lowering your reputation. 2 cans didn't get it done for me so I have to order more to finish the job, but I doubt I'll order it for another project. At 30 bucks a can, it needs to work perfectly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Paint spatters when applied I usually trust Eastwood's spray paint, so I'm willing to pay a premium. I bought several different colors of 2K top coat. started at 70 degrees, shook for 10 minutes. All of them produced a splattered paint, as if were already partially set up. I had to sand this down and start prepping again. Cost me time & $$

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t waste your money on this particular product. I put down a base layer of the platinum rust encapsulate followed a layer of the 2K primer. Everything looked absolutely beautiful. I was very happy with the results. Then I started applying the top coat. All I can say is I’m extremely unhappy about how crappy this stuff sprays. The primer had a premium nozzle that sprayed perfectly but the nozzle on the top coat is junk. Sprayed like total crap and looks terrible. Totally not what I expect from Eastwood. Now I’m stuck with a 480.00 crap paint job after I spent over 100 hours prepping my engine bay and sub frame.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can nozzle spitting fail I bought this for a small repair project thinking the 2 k would be most durable. First minute was fine then nozzle started spitting badly. Nothing much i could do but ride it out. I followed the instructions on the can to a t. Taking the unfinished can back.

Love the black epoxy primer, but you don't offer AeroSpray 2K in gloss black. Now I have a dilemma trying to figure out which 2K spray paint is available in gloss black. What gives? Not going to spray the Model T in flat or satin, please add gloss black!

Can this product be used on metal bucket seat backs, as far as UV protection goes, from fading in an interior environment? The car sees very little street use, and is garaged all of the time when not being driven.

Asked by: 67Dart
This should work good for that application. Your temp range and intermittent UV exposure would be very comparable to if it was applied to a frame.

Can por 15 metal prep be used on a rusty bumper then platinum ecapsulator then the 2k ceramic chassis black as my top coat

Asked by: Daniel
We would still recommend the surface be sanded with 320 grit paper and be wiped down with our PRE paint prep or Acetone before applying the Platinum and this topcoat in reference.

can this 2K be sprayed without issue as an added topCoat over the EW extreme chassis black frame paint, or must i remove the EW xtreme chassis back down to naked metal will it prevent smushes and cracks at the lift points on a truck weight TY!

Asked by: JayQQ
Yes, this can be applied over the Extreme Chassis black as long as it is properly prepped (if fully cured before applying this over). This coating is very chip resistant and durable and will offer a great deal of durability and protection.
