Product Overview:

Description

Eastwood's MIG 140 Welder

Get the best performance and value on DIY light metal fab by choosing an Eastwood welder. The Eastwood MIG 140 is the new-and-improved version of our popular MIG 135 welder that's perfect for sheet metal or even for beginners who want to start with light metal fab. The R&D guys have updated it to the latest IGBT inverter technology. This allows you do to the same high-quality welding on thin mild steel and stainless steel with a welder that weighs less than 25 pounds. That makes it easy to bring your welder to a project. Other new features include separate 2T/4T modes for long welds, a tack weld setting for hanging body panels and a metal drive motor that runs super-smoothly.

The high quality welds in sheet metal and thin steel as well as the overall performance matches and often exceeds more expensive MIG welders. This unit comes with a Tweco-style torch, gas regulator and consumables for MIG welding up to 3/16-inch thick. You can even add a spool gun to weld aluminum (item 20172). Eastwood welding is an affordable way to Do the Job Right on your street car, project car or race car. This welder can run on a standard 120V power supply or using a generator. It also does flux core welding without a gas bottle — or add a spool gun to weld aluminum. This Eastwood MIG welder has a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty and lifetime tech support. Watch the demonstration video above to learn more about the MIG 140.

Guides & Accessories

Instructions

This machine has smart wire feeding technology to prevent forcing excessive wire into the start of the weld. When the machine is not welding and feeding wire, it will feed wire at a slow fixed speed for approximately five seconds, and then speed up to max speed. This is to quickly feed wire through the torch. Once the machine senses that it is welding it will automatically run at the preset wire speed that the user has set on the machine. Do not be alarmed when the wire feeds slowly while not welding.

Safety Information

Welding fumes and gasses can be hazardous to your health. Arc Rays can injure your eyes and burn your skin. Wear correct eye, ear, and body protection. Do not touch live electrical components! Keep your head out of the fumes. Wear breathing protection when welding.

Accessories

Weld Aluminum with a Spool Gun

Quickly and easily connect or remove it as needed for working on different parts and panels. The spool gun is sold separately and is a great addition to your MIG 140 and you can check out item 20172 here.

Questions & Answers

Shopping welders and your mug 140 is among the finalists. One thing that troubles me is the lack of a knurled roller for flux core. Is this something that is in the works or no?

Asked by: Davenh58
While you should not reen a knurled drive roller you could use this one if desired. https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-mig-135-and175-replacement-knurled-drive-roller.html

What are the gauges for the argon tank? I think my 135 has the wrong gauge on the flow side.

Asked by: Harrier
The gauge on the front of the unit would need to be done as a Parts order through our Sales team at this current time. The external gas regulators can be found here: https://www.eastwood.com/gas-regulator.html

What makes your 140 MIG welder better than the 135 MIG, other than the 140 being a newer model or rated +5 amps? Or,  why should I spend +$100 for the 140?

Asked by: Reams
The new 140 is an inverter based machine and can be run off of a generator whereas the MIG135 is transformer based and can not be. The new 140 also has a 2t/4t feature and a tack feature whereas the 135 does not.

Will the Mig 140 welder fit on the 20233 welding cart?

On the bottom shelf it will not fit without modification of the front shelf's lip. This should work on the top shelf of this cart though.
