Eastwood 140 Amp MIG Welder

Description

Eastwood's MIG 140 Welder

Our Eastwood R&D guys have been constantly improving our incredibly popular MIG 135 since 2009 and are proud of this newly designed and improved MIG 140 that's great for light metal fab and all of those sheet metal projects and repairs that are necessary in auto restoration. The modern IGBT Inverter technology means a lightweight, portable, powerful unit that can even be powered by a generator. The new 2T/4T modes and tack weld feature add comfort and performance to this machine.

The high quality welds in sheet metal and thin steel as well as the overall performance matches and often exceeds more expensive MIG welders. This 120v unit comes with a Tweco-style torch, gas regulator and consumables for MIG welding up to 3/16-inch thick. It’s also capable of doing flux-core work when you don't have a gas bottle. You can even add a spool gun to weld aluminum (item 20172).

Will the Mig 140 welder fit on the 20233 welding cart?

Asked by: fantomnutt
On the bottom shelf it will not fit without modification of the front shelf's lip. This should work on the top shelf of this cart though.

does the tact weld setting work when flux core welding

Asked by: chip
Yes, this function will be useable when using flux wire as well.

Does this machine require a separate drive roller for flux core wire and is it included? Also how long is the mig torch?

Asked by: Joseph
It does not. We do not currently offer a knurled drive roller for flux wire. However, you can use the smaller side of the reversible drive roller this unit arrives with and it will grab and successfully run with flux wire. The torch is 8ft in length.

What does the tack weld setting actually do?

Asked by: Ole55
It allows you to produce much more consistent results when tack welding as it cuts off the supply or arc for you rather than having to guesstimate this on your own.

can you use flux core with this and max thickness you can weld with it on flux, is this better than the 135 since its metal drive, but the 135 can feed more quickly

Asked by: mcarb80682
Yes. This unit works with flux wire up to .035" and will work with thicknesses up to 1/4".
