Customer Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product Great product that I have used on faded interior parts from my Chevelle to friends Corvette and the results are excellent. The top color spray from Eastwood applied over this product results in a new item look. Highly recommend this and other products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome product Used as a prep coat for a polyurethane lip spoiler. Followed all the directions per mfg with plastic adhesion promoter and black bumper coat paint purchased from Eastwood. The finish came out looking as good as factory with no flaking, chalking, or other blemishes after 4 years with regular outdoor exposure. This is my second can to use on another lip spoiler as my friend used up my 1st can with similarly great results on his car.

Yes, this can be applied then any of out Eastwood paints applied over. Best option would be something 2k/catalyzed or the Tank tone. Clear is not required but can be applied if desired.

Can this be used as an adhesion promoter for car seats, or is the sand free recommended?

Asked by: Kpaint
Yes this adhesion promoter would work well on your car seats. Follow directions on the can for proper application. Sand Free is more for the hard plastic parts such as ABS and PVC Parts

I’d like to paint a new yeti cooler, can I use the adhesion promoter, then paint using acrylic, then seal it with some sort of top coat?

Asked by: Abee
The SEM Adhesion Promoter (52366z) is an easy to apply product and will work with most hard to paint plastics. Once applied properly according to the directions this adhesion promoter will provide a superior bonding surface for your Acrylic paint. Follow the directions from your Acrylic paint of choice for a compatible top coat, then apply according to there directions. Pay special attention to drying times between coats.

I am painting old interior automotive plastic.  It is not previously painted.  The plastic itself is colored.  Should I use adhesion promoter?

Asked by: Keith
Yes, The Plastic adhesion Promotor should be used. The first step that should be done would be to wash the plastic with some Dawn dish soap and water, dry , then wipe down with our Pre painting prep, while that is still wet wipe dry with clean microfiber. Let that gas off for about 20 minutes, then apply the plastic adhesion promoter.

I wanted to paint my old dirt bike plastics, tank, fenders and side plates. Should I scuff them up and then use this? What paint should I use? I wanted to match the yellow 1980’s Yamahas.

Asked by: BDR200
This Adhesion promoter can be used and the paint of your choice applied directly on top. Unfortunately we will not have a color to match what you are looking for.
