Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value I've used industrial "big name" plasma cutters at past employers. This cutter will get the same job done as the big boys for way less money. And the smaller size helps greatly with portability without sacrificing power and performance ( up inside a dump bed for instance) I've had no issues with this cutter !!!!, I've cut sheet metal with no distortion all the way up to 1/2" thick truck frames ! Eastwoods no questions ask warranty adds real piece of mind ! ( hey everybody has a wednesday !!) pick up the consumables kit and keep on cutting !!!

Are the contact tips set up for contact or stand off?

Asked by: Chas51
The Cutting Nozzles on our Versa 60 can be either a stand off or a drag tip. We recommend when cutting anything over 1/2" that you would use a stand off, as when your cutting thicker metal, there is a lot more heat.

Will another brand's gouging tip work in a versa 60 torch? I need to cut welds with it and there are no gouging tips for this.

Asked by: Craig
Unfortunately we have no way of knowing as we only test with what we sell. However as long as the tip is designed for a Trafimet CB70 torch it should be applicable.

Will it de-weld or gouge?

Asked by: Ummagumma
Our Plasma cutters are designed to cut through metal, and by doing so it helps keep the end of the torch cooler. If you were to gouge, there would be too much heat build up could destroy your torch.

I am planning on delicate freehand cutting. Is the torch on the CB50 torch easier to see around (for following a line) than the CB70?

Asked by: onebluesdufus
That will depend on the thickness of the metal your cutting. If your just cutting metal under 1/8" the Versa Cut 20, would be the best for your vision of seeing the line.. The versa 40 and the 60 have same visibility.

What is the reason it is suggested not to use on CNC table? What does it being HF start have to do with it.

Asked by: JOHN
It would not be recommended because it would more than likely cause damage to the pc board.

What would the reasoning behind my machine continuously flowing air as long as it is on and hooked up to air without me touching the trigger at all? Is there any way this can be fixed?

Asked by: Andrew
Please contact us at techekp@eastwood.com or by calling us directly at 800-343-9353. This could be caused by several different issues and needs to be thoroughly discussed.

I purchased the versa cut 60 and the 250i. Earlier you answered about a genarator at 12000 watts. Can a dryer outlet (30 amps) OR a generator rated at 9500 watts continuous to run these. I am only cutting and mig welding 16g sheet metal ? No 50 amp yet.

Asked by: Orangerider
This unit requires a 50 amp breaker. Anything less could burn internal components.

Our Eastwood-designed portable plasma cutter is your smartest choice for making clean, fast cuts through mild steel, stainless steel or aluminum. This powerful unit can neatly cut materials as thin as 24 gauge or as thick as 7/8-inch. Compared to mechanical cutting, our Versa-Cut 60 Plasma Cutter works significantly faster and makes curved and intricate cuts more easily and precisely. We stand behind our machines with no-hassle returns and an industry-leading warranty, which means you can be confident in their capabilities.

**Note: Due to the High Frequency start feature, we do not recommend using this machine on a CNC plasma table.**

  • 20' torch cable; 10' ground cable with clamp

Powerful Metal Cutting

You may not need to cut through super-thick metal often - but you'll know you can with the Versa Cut 60. This 220v, 50 to 60Hz, 60-amp output portable plasma cutter is designed to cut steel, aluminum and stainless steel anywhere from 0.010- to 0.875-inch thick with ease. A built-in pilot arc system allows for instant arc striking and ease of use when cutting rusty material and expanded metal. The internal moisture separator helps to ensure clean dry air gets to the torch to give you consistent results. It requires a 50-amp breaker and plugs into an appropriate wall outlet.

The Versa Cut 60 comes with a heavy-duty Mosfet inverter, internal moisture separator, 20-foot torch and 10-foot ground cable with adjustable air pressure regulator. These features and parts assure long life, accurate cuts and ease of use. It also includes a self-starting arc for use on floor panels and exhaust where rust and contaminants may be an issue. The machine has a duty cycle of 60 percent for long continuous cuts. At 45 pounds, it is light enough to bring to a friend's shop, a race track or any other place that metal needs to be cut.
