APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Eastwood Epoxy Primer should be applied in medium wet coats, with a 30-minute flash period between each (at 70 °F). Typically, one to two coats is enough to achieve the desired 1 mil. dry film thickness, though more material may be applied as needed. Additional build requires longer flash periods between coats. Epoxy primer may be topcoated after approximately 30 minutes (wait 45-60 minutes after applying more than two coats), or up to about five days. After five days, primer MUST be scuff sanded prior to topcoat application. May be sanded (wet) the day after application. Wait two to three days before sanding dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eastwood products ROCK !!! This product is exactly what Eastwood says it is . Very user friendly. Affordable , sands easily. I could not be happier with the way it lays down on bare metal. I would recommend using this product to any one who wants a great result in their paint job.

Can i use this as a primer on my engine block

Asked by: Liimey
This is not temp rated high enough to be used on an engine. The best option for use on an engine would be this primer here: https://www.eastwood.com/2k-aerospray-high-temp-engine-primer-gray.html

Can I use your four to one clear directly over this primer or does it have to be top coated

Asked by: Eric
It is really designed to have a top coat applied over first but it will not yield any compatibility issues if you top our Epoxy primers with this clear coat.

If planning to use this epoxy primer to cover a full size SUV, how many one gallon kits would be recommended assuming two coats?

Asked by: Jake
I would say a one gallon kit and a quart kit should be adequate for this. These kits mix 1:1 with the catalyst so a 1 gallon kit yields 2 useable gallons and a 1 quart kit will yield 2 useable quarts.
