Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good machine I bought this 175 a few weeks ago and so far I really like the flux core portion. I haven’t gotten any gas yet to try the spool gun though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine I bought the mig175 mig welder, it surpassed my expectations I just got finished building a metal framed shed 24’x24’ and the machine has not given me a bit of trouble. 20 pounds of .030 flux core wire ran through it so far and not one bit of trouble. I will definitely be looking forward to purchasing the plasma 60 in the very near future. I cannot say enough good things about this machine

Having 75/25 shielding gas and 71-t1 dual shield fluxcore wire. Will this machine run that setup?

Asked by: Dave
The mig 175 will definitely run this combo as long as your project doesn’t require more then our rated capacities in a single pass. With the dual shield you should get increased penetration with less clean up compared to flux core. It is an industrial process.

When using a MIG 175 welding 1/2" carbon steel and making multiple passes, should you reduce the settings, say what is used for 3/16" or 1/8" or should you use what is listed for 1/4" thick material?

Asked by: THooks
You will want to keep the setting at the 1/4' setting, and then do your multiple passes.

The welder comes complete (except for the gas cylinder) and is ready to weld 24 gauge to 5/16-inch mild steel and stainless steel. By attached the free spool gun, you can also weld 14 gauge to 1/4-inch aluminum. This high-quality MIG welding machine has a 30 percent duty cycle at 135 amps and a 30-175 amp welding range, giving you the power and time needed for tough projects. It feeds wire at 58-471 inches per minute and has infinitely adjustable wire speed and heat settings. Anyone who has a 220-volt electrical outlet in their garage or shop can use this spool gun welder. Attaching an extension cord will let you bring the welder to the project instead of the other way around.

Precise Welding Control

The Amperage and output voltage can be controlled precisely to get the proper penetration required. Wire speed can be infinitely adjusted to gain proper wire fill in the weld pool. This unit has been compared to the leading U.S.-manufactured red welders, with equivalent results at a fraction of the cost.
