Safety Information
Work in a well ventilated area when applying this product. The use of a respirator like our SAS Bandit Respirator (11455 or 11456) is recommended when applying this coating.
Use Rubberized Undercoating 18.3oz Aer for touch up in wheel well areas. One can covers about 7 sq ft and withstands up to 200 degrees F. This resilient black coating protects the surface against chips, and deadens sound. The dried coating can also be painted. To completely undercoat the underside of your car, use Rubberized Undercoating (16008 ZP) Qt. (Average 2 needed); and apply Heavy Duty Anti Rust (16017 ZP) in rocker panels, doors, and other boxed sections. Use a heat gun and dull putty knife to remove undercoat. Use in a well ventilated area or wear a respirator.

Used it for yearsI've been using this undercoating for 15 years. This undercoat is great, sprays nice, dries fast and last a long time.

Eastwood undercoatingI tried 3 other spray can style undercoatings for my wheel wells and none can compare to Eastwood’s. It sprays on well and stays soft. As close to the oem stuff as you can get from a spray can.

Great! This stuff is the best. After pulling the carpets on my jeep I did the floors. This has a good spread and I thought OK ill let it sit overnight. This stuff dried in 20 mins!! Took a little better than 3 cans to do entire floor of my Wrangler. I always buy 6 cans even though I wont use them all its good to have too much than too little. Jeep is nice and quiet inside and im doing the undercarriage now. Ive been buying Eastwood products for many years now. They are the go to guys for coverage and paints. Try the chessis inner coating its the best if you want chassis to last. 2 cans did my Jeep chassis. I could go on and on about Eastwood products but try them you wont be dissapointed.
this product is designed to be sprayed on to guarantee a even mil thickness of material and give a nice uniform look. using a brush or roller could give you inconsistent thickness

How is this product different from the Por15 rubberized undercoating?
Asked by: 356Bodyman
POr15 states that their Rubberized Undercoating is paintable where ours is not designed to be top coated further.

Unfortunately, we have no way to determine compatibility between our items and other brands of items/undercoating guns that we do not sell.

What is the difference between this product and the ‘ruberized rust encapsulator’. I already used ruberized encapsulator hoping to prevent Montana liquid salt spray and am wondering if I should have used the ruberized undercoat instead.
Asked by: Chad
The Rubberized Rust Encapsulator has the Encapsulator formulated in to suffocate existing rust whereas this Rubberized undercoating is just a standard Rubberized undercoating and should not be applied over rust.

I painted this brushable Rubberized Undercoating in a few areas that I intended to paint with POR 15. Will the Por 15 stick over the undercoating?
Asked by: tommya
The Por-15 Product will not obtain a good bond when used over the Eastwood rubberized undercoating. This is not a recommended application.

Can this rubberized undercoating be applied directly over platinum rust encapsulator, if so what is the proper prep and procedure to apply the rubberized under coat.
Asked by: Steve
Yes, this can be applied right over the top as soon as 4 hours up until 48 hours after applying the Platinum. After 48 hours, the Platinum will be fully curd so the surface would have to be abraded with 320/400 grit paper prior to applying this over to get the products to mechanically bond.

Can this be applied over rust encapsulator platinum without scuff sanding the platinum if sprayed within the 4-48 hour top coating window?
Asked by: Steve
If applied over the top of the Platinum directly between 4-48 hours ( on average) then yes it would not need to be sanded as the products would chemically bond together.
