Stop—and hide—rust in its tracks! Our "Textured" Rust Encapsulator stops surface rust, and hides it too!
Textured formula hides the rust
Epoxy-fortified for better adhesion and topcoat compatibility
Penetrates deeper to prevent rust from spreading or forming, even in hard-to-reach areas
15-oz. aerosol covers about 10-15 sq. ft.
2%-10% Gloss Level
As seen on "My Classic Car" TV show
Like our regular Rust Encapsulators, this textured formula seals and stops rust and corrosion from spreading, but it does more—apply it over rusted and surrounding clean metal and it turns it all into a textured surface that hides the rust!
Tested against well-known brands, the family of Eastwood Rust Encapsulators has proven to be superior in sunlight resistance, preventing rust creep, and overall durability. Twice the corrosion resistance of our original formula for greater durability (tested to 500 hours in a salt-spray chamber).

Safety Information
Work in a well-ventilated area when applying this product. The use of a respirator is recommended. Shake vigorously for 2 minutes before spraying. Consult MSDS for specific safety warnings.
Use a wire brush to remove loose rust, scale and paint, and remove dust, grease and oil deposits. Feather surrounding paint with 220-grit sandpaper. Shake can for at least 2 minutes once the mixing ball starts to rattle. Hold the Textured Rust Encapsulator can 10"-12" above surface as you spray. A single coat dries to the touch in 20 minutes, and is thoroughly dry in 3-4 hours at 68 degreesF. For greater durability, a second coat can be applied 1 hour after the first. Allow 6-8 hours after the last coat before applying topcoat. Use over or under body fillers.

Phenomenal finishAbsolutely the best undercoat/undercarriage paint. It is similar to a high end spray in bed liner or a rough skateboard grip tape. I’m super happy with it. Oh, and it’s a satin finish- which looks killer with other chassis blacks and greys. You won’t be disappointed

Saving me money.Unlike many of you I’m not a body man. The last thing I want to do is spend time restoring my truck. What I want to do is save money. I use this on my plow trucks. Every spring I touch up winter damage. Every fall I lay down fluid film. I just sold my 2005 GMC. No rust. I just bought 2016 F250. I’m being the cycle again. So sorry guys I don’t want to pay you thousands to repair winter damage. Lol.

Great productI have bought this product before and it is a great product. I use when restoring my cars
Hello there, I have applied rust encapsulator on my '74 truck. Now I am ready to paint it and the inside I want to paint(base + clear coat) directly to the rust encapsulator. Can I do it or I need to have primer first? Thanks
Asked by: Neljunior
Primer is not required if bare metal is not exposed that you will be applying to. Your paint should be able to be applied over this if properly prepped. If any bare metal is showing after prepping (sanding) then you should apply a primer.

I'm fabricating a wood bed in a 62 jeep pickup. I was thinking of using this on the metal bed rails. How would it hold up for the wear of hauling things in the bed. It's going to maybe get very light use in the bed. Thanks

For the application in reference I would highly recommend the 2k Ceramic Chassis Black instead.

So I’m wanting to sand blast my frame then use the rust encapsulator but I hear some guys just sand loose rust off and spray it right over it. So what would the proper prep be before I spray it. Also primer before hand?
Asked by: Frame prep
To use Eastwood rust Encapsulator products you just need to remove flaky rust with a clean wire brush then clean the frame with a good wax and grease remover such as Eastwood Pre Painting Prep (11949z) then apply thr Rust Encapsulator and allow to cure then you can top coat with most any paint.
if you sand blast the frame clean and free of all rust, you should prime with a good epoxy primer before painting.

I want to use this product on new aluminum. Do I need to prime the surface first or can I I spray directly on clean surface?
Asked by: Gaskill
You can apply directly to the metal but you must scuff the surface to a 220 to 320 grit. This will provide the necessary texture for the paint to properly adhere to

Rust Encapsulator can be used over and under body fillers. It is UV stable and can be top-coated with most coatings.

Yes, this should be fine to apply over the top of the Textured Encapsulator.
